Really disappointing experience. The least relaxing pedicure and manicure. When I explained I didn't want my cuticles cut (as is the advice of any dermatologist) the nail technician reacted like this was a silly request. The salon had a really strong smell of polish vapours and also of just rubbish. I realised during my manicure that there was a plastic bag on the floor nearby tied with a knot, which I deduced was rubbish. The nail technician was friendly but he seemed most focused on highlighting how quickly he could get a mani and pedi done. It's the first time I've ever gone for a so called "deluxe mani/pedi that was anything but. Not relaxing in the slightest. Vietnamese techno music blaring on his sound system, the water in tbe basin for soaking my hands was cold...the water in the foot basin was barely lukewarm. Then, when he came to do my feet, I said that as with my fingernails, I only wanted him to push back my cuticles and not cut them. I thought he only pushed them but he must have been too rough with them because the very next day my big toe cuticle was sore and I realised it was bleeding. Given the total lack of hygiene controls (nail tools appeared to be just the one set, no visible disinfection of them), I am still concerned my nailbed could get infected. If it hadn't been for the fact that I had prepaid for these treatments, I would have walked out of the salon immediately.
